Working with family is not always easy but for Patina it seems to work in their favor. Perhaps it is in their heritage or maybe they just somehow managed to set ego aside and work for the good of all.
Walking through the bright and clean facility it seems there is at least one of the brothers working in each department. The production here at Patina runs like a well-greased machine and essentially the manpower at Patina is the machine since everything coming out their doors is made by hand.
Juan Aguirre, the new owner of Patina Old World Flooring since 2011 is not taking any shortcuts when it comes to quality, keeping the high standard of precise craftsmanship alive in our ever changing world where quality is all too often compromised for quantity.
About Patina Old World Flooring:
The first company to manufacture pre-finished hand-scraped wood flooring, Patina Old World Flooring first opened its doors in 1995 as a small family owned business. By staying ahead of trends, producing only the highest quality products and always standing behind their work, Patina is today as much as ever the leader in the industry with a much larger operation and still the same keen eye to detail and handmade quality. With many noteworthy projects under their belt such as the LACMA (the Los Angeles County Museum of Art) working together with Los Angeles based Gensler and Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Renzo Piano of Paris to develop just the right shade of grey, texture and sheen of the flooring to serve as a canvas to the priceless art in the Resnick Pavillion.
